The Justice Department is developing an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract that will be a set aside for small businesses to provide information technology services. Called the Information Technology Support Procurement, it will be worth about $123 million over five years.

The FBI is expected to use about 10 percent of the contract. Services under the deal will include personnel and facilities to design, develop and maintain systems on mainframes, minicomputers, servers and microcomputers. Bid proposals are due Nov. 6.



USDA Looks to Austin Integrator: The Agriculture Department plans to award a one-year option on a sole source contract to The Systems Group of Austin, Texas, to provide software support and other services for USDA's Electronic Publishing System. The system is comprised of a wide range of components from several manufacturers. The Systems Group will provide consulting support, analysis and engineering support and training, services it has been offering for the last five years.



Turkey Taps Israeli Imaging Firm: Top Image Systems Ltd. of Tel Aviv, Israel, will provide form processing and data entry services to the Turkish Ministry of Finance. The $400,000 contract will entail processing 500,000 forms a day. Top Image is partnered with DataSel, the systems integration arm of Turkish conglomerate Yuksel.



KPMG, PeopleSoft Partner on Outsourcing: KPMG of New York has formed an alliance with PeopleSoft of Pleasanton, Calif., to provide business applications outsourcing. Services will include design, implementation and maintenance of PeopleSoft's enterprisewide applications. These will mesh with KPMG's understanding of commercial best practices and operations improvement.



Data Center Contract Gets Another Task Order: The Small Business Administration plans to consolidate its data centers using the General Services Administration's Virtual Data Center Services contract. It is the eighth task order for the contract, which has been slow to take off since it was awarded in 1997. SBA has tapped Unisys Corp. of Blue Bell, Pa., as prime contractor. The task order, valued at about $52 million, covers data migration, processing and maintenance.
