The work spans AEGIS, ballistic missile defense and nuclear survivability. But only holders of the Seaport contract vehicle are eligible.
The Naval Surface Warfare Center is laying the groundwork for a recompete of $90 million contract for combat weapon systems engineering support work.
The center’s Integrated Combat Systems Department is managing the procurement. It covers a wide range of surface combat systems engineering including design and analysis, ballistic missile defense, Aegis ashore support, testing and certification, and safety engineering.
A notice posted Monday to Sam.gov describes the scope of work as touching several programs involving the Naval Sea Systems Command, Missile Defense Agency, PEO Integrated Warfare Systems, PEO Ships, and PEO Unmanned and Small Surface Combatants.
The incumbent contractor is Basic Commerce & Industries, which won the work in 2022 and is performing it through Jan. 8, 2028. Basic Commerce won the task order under the SeaPort vehicle, according to Deltek data.
The Navy is limiting the new competition to SeaPort prime contractors.
The contract funds a team of cleared systems engineers who support the Navy's combat systems development, testing, and certification work.
Responses to the sources sought notice are due May 1. Navy officials plan to hold an industry day later that month and release a final solicitation in February 2027.
