Peraton ends protest of $1B DOD enterprise IT contract
The move potentially allows Deloitte to begin work on the Defense Manpower Data Center contract award.
Peraton apparently has backed away from its fight for a $1 billion enterprise IT contract with the Defense Manpower Data Center.
Deloitte won the contract earlier this year and Peraton subsequently filed a protest, which resulted in a corrective action in Peraton’s favor. The center said it would re-evaluate Peraton’s proposal, including its technical approach.
But for a second time, Deloitte won the contract and Peraton came back with a fresh challenge in late June.
Peraton withdrew the new protest on Tuesday, which apparently frees Deloitte to start working on the contract.
Companies are not required to state why they withdraw and Peraton has not responded to a request for comment.
The enterprise IT award consolidates other contracts into a single vehicle. Services cover hardware, software, and systems integration.
DMDC is the agency responsible for collecting data on uniformed personnel and their families.
Some of the global systems being supported include the Real-time Automated Identification Systems, Defense Biometrics Identification System and Joint Asset Movement Management System.
