IRS takes center stage at Friday's WT Power Breakfast
This coming Friday's event features leadership from the tax agency, procurement insights, and a panel of executives from its industry partners.
Tax season may be well behind us, but now is a great time to learn what is going on with the Internal Revenue Service at Friday’s Power Breakfast.
The IRS will be the centerpiece of our Doing Business with the Treasury Department event at Carahsoft's headquarters in Reston, Virginia. Doors open at 7:45 a.m. with registration and networking, while the program kicks off at 8:30 a.m.
Guy Torres, deputy chief procurement officer at the IRS, will open the session with an update on the agency's goals and several initiatives. He will also connect the IRS' activities to what the broader Treasury is doing.
Nate Nash, co-founder of GovTribe, will follow Torres with a presentation looking at the Treasury's spending habits including data on what the department is buying and how. GovTribe is a sibling organization to Washington Technology.
Also on the agenda is Brandon Szabo, chief of user experience and design at the IRS. Szabo will share what his organization focuses on and its role in the IRS' broader mission. User experience, also called customer experience, is a big issue across the federal market and the country. Szabo's team is the middle of it.
To wrap up our event, we’ll have an industry panel featuring executives whose companies count the IRS, and by extension the Treasury, as a client.

We’ll see you there on Friday.
