General Dynamics IT cleared to proceed on $308M GSA award

The General Services Administration fends off a protest against its choice of GDIT for the five-year task order to modernize the agency's assisted acquisition tool.
A bid protest decision has cleared the way for General Dynamics IT to begin work on a $307.9 million modernization task order with the General Services Administration.
GSA hired GDIT to modernize the agency's Assisted Service Shared Information System, known as ASSIST, which is GSA’s tool for providing assisted acquisition services to agencies.
ICF was the incumbent and filed a protest after the award. The company argued that its proposal was improperly graded with weaknesses and should also have earned certain strengths.
GAO has sided with GSA and denied the protest. A total of four companies bid for the five-year order, according to Federal Procurement Data System records.
GSA is apparently seeing an increase in the use of assisted acquisition services and expects that trend to continue.
