Godspeed Capital acquires majority ownership of airport engineering firm
BNP Associates will use this new investment to further expand the simulation and engineering services it offers for federally-funded projects.
Private equity firm Godspeed Capital Management has acquired the majority ownership of BNP Associates, an air transportation design and engineering firm.
BNP employs approximately 135 people that focus on the air transportation sector, including work with airports around the country on federally-funded infrastructure projects. Terms of the transaction announced Wednesday were not disclosed.
With Godspeed’s investment, BNP’s leadership team will look to further expand its design and engineering services business.
BNP wants to expand the work it does on baggage, cargo and material handling systems. The company also wants to grow its simulation services and solutions.
Some examples of major airports BNP has worked at include LaGuardia Airport, John F. Kennedy International Airport, Chicago O’Hare International Airport, Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, London Heathrow Airport, Hong Kong International Airport, Singapore Changi Airport, and Dubai International Airport.
“We look forward to working with the Godspeed team to further enhance our operations, invest in and grow our talented team, and identify growth acquisitions to help us build out the BNP platform,” now-CEO Damon Breier said in a release.
Breier was promoted from his vice president role.
Godspeed currently owns eight companies across the engineering, consulting and government services sectors.
