Unissant hires former Array CEO to lead its next phase
Sumeet Shrivastava oversaw the sale of Array to CGI Federal in 2021 and is now back leading another's push to grow in the middle tier.
Sumeet Shrivastava is back in the c-suite less than three years after he sold the company that he led to CGI Federal.
He is now president and CEO of Unissant as its founder Manish Malhotra steps into a chief strategy officer role. Malhotra remains chair of the company’s board.
“Sumeet has been a trusted advisor to Unissant for the past two years and to me personally for almost two decades,” Malhotra said in a release Tuesday. “His extensive GovCon background, impressive track record in scaling companies, and commitment to a corporate culture founded in collaboration and innovation all make Sumeet the ideal successor.”
Malhotra will focus on longer-term growth initiatives as Shrivastava leads daily operations and execution.
The transition marks a pivotal moment for the company as it grows into a midsized firm. Unissant has recorded approximately $68.1 in unclassified prime revenue over the trailing 12 months and predominantly with civilian agencies, according to USASpending.gov figures.
Shrivastava was the CEO of Array Information Technologies from 2008 until it was acquired by CGI Federal in October 2021.
He spoke to us for an episode of our podcast shortly after the acquisition closed, sharing what the small-to-mid transition should look like and why businesses in that spot must be open to outside leadership.
