Veronica Daigle will lead the incubation firm's work with defense technology companies led by entrepreneurs.

Technology incubation firm Red Cell Partners has hired a new president for its national security practice in Veronica Daigle, a former assistant secretary for readiness at the Defense Department.

Daigle also will hold the title of partner as she oversees Red Cell's development of its strategy and approach for working with entrepreneur-led defense technology companies, the firm said Wednesday.

Red Cell's current backings in the market include Defcon AI, Epirus, Red 6 and Reveal AI. Daigle joins a leadership team that earlier this year hired a new cyber practice president in George Barnes, a former deputy director from the National Security Agency.

In her most recent role at DOD, Daigle oversaw military preparedness policies and acted as the lead adviser on readiness to the defense secretary.

Daigle served in that Senate-confirmed position during 2019, then joined Boeing's legislative affairs and government operations team in early 2020 as an executive director.

She first entered federal service in 2008 and later served as a senior executive within DOD's Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation office, also known as CAPE.
