Lisa Sherhart will succeed Susann Bresnahan, who is wrapping up a 45-year career at the company.

Accenture's U.S. federal subsidiary has promoted Lisa Sherhart to the chief human resource officer position, a move up from her current deputy CHRO role that will take effect Dec. 1.

Sherhart will succeed Susann Bresnahan, who is retiring after a 45-year career with Accenture Federal Services and its parent company. Bresnahan will stay on as a strategic adviser through the current fiscal year.

Sherhart has worked as deputy chief HR officer since 2012 and has overseen several initiatives, such as Accenture Federal's inclusion and diversity program and the integration of new employees from previously acquired businesses.

“Among my highest priorities will be ensuring Accenture Federal Services remains a top destination for the best people with the next-generation skills necessary to deliver mission success for our clients,” she said in a release.
