ManTech hires new chief financial officer
ManTech's now-former CFO has retired from the company after 12 years there that included several acquisitions and the sale of itself.
ManTech has appointed a new chief financial officer almost six months after the company's acquisition by the Carlyle Group in the fall of 2022.
Michael Ruppert joins the company from Mercury Systems, where he also was CFO and executive vice president and treasurer of that defense electronics company.
“With more than 20 years of experience in finance for private and public companies, Mike will provide strong leadership, expertise and insight to the role of CFO at ManTech,” CEO Matt Tait said in a release Tuesday.
Ruppert succeeds Judith Bjornass, who was ManTech's finance chief for the past six years and deputy CFO for six years before that. She led all aspects of finance at ManTech including investor relations, financial analysis, planning and reporting, compliance, auditor relations and procurement.
Bjornass also led efforts behind 20 acquisitions that supported ManTech's growth to nearly $3 billion in annual revenue and 10,000 employees.
Prior to Mercury, Ruppert co-founded and managed the merger-and-acquisition advisory firm RSPartners. He previously was managing director at UBS Securities, leading its defense and government IT portfolio. He also worked on aerospace-and-defense at Lehman Brothers and Lazard Freres.
