SOS International reorgs, names new defense & intell leader

SOS International combines its defense IT and intelligence solutions units into one and promotes one of its own executives to lead it.

SOS International has combined its defense IT and intelligence solutions business units into a single group led by Ed Bachl, who joined the company upon its acquisition of Vykin Corp. in July of last year.

Bachl is a co-founder of Vykin and will oversee a group that supports Defense Department and intelligence community programs with analytics, information operations and technical collection capabilities.

As part of this reorganization, SOSi also promoted Christopher Alligood to vice president of intelligence solutions in a role that gives him responsibility over the company’s analytic and technical offerings for agencies in that community.

“The lines between analytic services and technologies are continuously blurring as more defense and intelligence customers adopt and deploy cloud, machine learning, and artificial intelligence solutions enterprise-wide,” SOSi CEO Julian Setian said in a release Thursday. “As a bold and agile organization, we are adapting our business structure to align with the operational and procurement strategy shifts exhibited by our customer in the defense and intelligence markets.”

SOSi’s newly-integrated defense and intelligence solutions group includes the company’s prime contractor position on the Defense Intelligence Agency’s Solutions for Intelligence Analysis program, plus the lead architect role for DOD’s Mission Partner Environment initiative to facilitate greater information sharing and communications among allied and other U.S. partners.

Reston, Virginia-based SOSi said the group represents one-third of the overall business portfolio.
