Patent and Trademark Office names field for $2B software development competition

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has named the field of companies it deems eligiblfe to compete for positions on a 10-year, $2 billion contract for broad software development and systems integration services.

USPTO expects to make final awards for the Business Oriented Software Solutions contract on Dec. 30, the agency said Friday in a Beta.Sam.Gov notice.

Twenty-four companies have made the initial cut:

  • Booz Allen Hamilton
  • Cloud Nine Technologies
  • CSRA (acquired by General Dynamics)
  • CTIS
  • GovernmentCIO
  • Halvik Corp.
  • ICF
  • Indrasoft
  • IT Concepts Inc.
  • Malik Consulting, which does business as Metric5
  • MERP Systems
  • Morgan 6 and M6-VETS joint venture
  • Pragmatics
  • RCH Partners
  • Rite-Solutions
  • RIVA Solutions
  • Salient CRGT
  • Science Applications International Corp.
  • Sevatec
  • Steampunk
  • Stratera Fulcrum Technologies
  • Strongbridge

Work areas for BOSS include software development and integration, testing, configuration management, production, software maintenance and transition, and program management. Companies will also vie to help in architecture and design, coding, defect triaging and user experience design.
