Technology consulting firm Dinocrates Group has acquired secure networking and communications services company Global Management Systems Inc., a small business whose customers include those in government and commercial markets.
Terms of the transaction were undisclosed. In a release Tuesday, Dinocrates said it now has 90 total employees across eight states with 80 of those coming from GMSI.
Rockville, Maryland-based GMSI represents the first acquisition by Dinocrates since the latter was founded in 2014.
GMSI provides telecommunications, large area network infrastructure, network engineering, operations and configuration management services to customers that include the Defense Department.
“Acquiring a communications infrastructure company means Dinocrates now has the ability to architect, implement and maintain secure communications and offer cutting edge solutions for defense customers, such as cloud computing, software-driven networks, blockchain and unified communications services,” Dinocrates Chief Technology Officer Jim St. Clair said in a release. “It also positions us for customer transition to 5G networking in the immediate future.”
The company received $6.5 million in prime contract obligations during the government’s 2018 fiscal year with substantially all of those from the Army’s Information Management Communications III contract, according to Deltek data.
IMCS III covers non-personal administrative telephone and IT support services to Army network enterprise centers. GMSI is one of 19 companies on the small business set-aside contract, of which a solicitation for the recompete IMCS IV should be released over the summer next year.
Dinocrates’ prime contract vehicles include the General Services Administration’s IT Schedule 70 and Professional Services Schedule procurements.
