Just when it appeared the awards were final, the National Institutes of Health has decided to name more companies to the 8(a) portion of the on-ramp for NIH’s $20 billion CIO-SP3 Small Business contract for IT services.
In a FedBizOpps notice Wednesday, NIH said it has awarded 15 additional seats for the 8(a) track to grow the total number of awardees to 100. This comes after NIH’s July announcement of 81 companies as confirmed winners, who joined a group of four final awardees in December 2018.
The on-ramp’s period of performance began Aug. 19 and extends to June 29, 2022. CIO-SP3 covers IT services and health IT requirements across the federal government.
NIH is still evaluating proposals for the general small business category, while the HUBzone and service-disabled, veteran-owned categories were finalized last year.
