Tyto Athene appoints new CFO

Tyto Athene, the former Black Box federal arm, appoints MicroPact's former CFO to the same role.

Government IT systems integrator Tyto Athene said Thursday it has hired former MicroPact Chief Financial Officer Daniel Smith to the same role.

Smith joins Tyto Athene in the wake of its first acquisition as an independent company that was once the government business of Black Box until its acquisition in August of last year by private equity firm Arlington Capital Partners.

Just this week, Tyto Athene announced it acquired Island Information Technology Consultants to grow more of an intelligence community presence.

More recently, Smith was CFO at MicroPact for six years and led that company through its sale to public sector software provider Tyler Technologies.

He is also a former CFO for Attain and helped lead the formation of that business through financing and acquisition of assets from what was BearingPoint.
