Cubic promotes Knowles to defense president

Cubic Corp. has promoted Michael Knowles to president of the company's global defense segment in a move effective Oct. 1.

The two-decade industry veteran will also become a corporate senior vice president as part of this transition, Cubic said Tuesday. Knowles will succeed Dave Buss, who will transition to a senior adviser and corporate senior vice president role focuses on strategy and growth in the defense businesses.

Knowles will elevate to the president position from his current role as vice president and general manager of the defense segment's air ranges unit. That role will be taken by Jonas Furukrona also on Oct. 1.
