CSRA's Prior takes executive of the year honor

Four Northern Virginia-based companies and a top government IT executive were recognized Tuesday night as among the best in the region’s technology community at the Northern Virginia Technology Council’s annual TechCelebration banquet.

The NVTC Tech awards seek to honor groundbreaking new technologies in the field, as well as individuals and businesses who contribute significantly to the region’s technology community.

Awards went to a pair of firms in Appian and REAN Cloud as “Tech Company of the Year.” Appian took home the $50 million-plus revenue honor and REAN Cloud received the under $50 million award.

CSRA CEO Larry Prior was chosen as “Tech Executive of the Year” after an active 2017 for the government IT contractor as it made a pair of acquisitions in NES Associates and Praxis Engineering to extend additional footprints in defense and national security.

Nonprofit organization Mitre Corp. took home the “Tech Patent of the Year” award for its “System for Bulk Separation of Single-Walled Tubular Fullerenes Using a Channeled Substrate” creation.

IT consulting firm PRISM walked away with the VEI Veteran Service Award for that company’s veteran hiring initiatives.
