ManTech names new president of mission and cyber group

Rick Wagner has been named president of ManTech's mission, cyber and intelligence solutions group. He'll replace the retiring Bill Varner on Jan. 1.

ManTech International said Wednesday it has promoted Rick Wagner to president of the company’s mission, cyber and intelligence solutions group in a move slated to take effect on Jan. 1, 2018.

Wagner will take up the role currently held by the retiring Bill Varner, who has led the group for close to eight years.

Wagner has served as executive vice president and chief operating officer for the group for nearly two years and leads its day-to-day operations. He first joined the company in 2015 as head of the advanced technology solutions business.

Prior to ManTech, Wagner held a 16-year career at TASC and led due diligence and integration activities related to its 2015 combination with Engility Corp. His executive roles at TASC included chief strategy officer and senior vice president of the defense group.

He also held management positions at Lockheed Martin and Raytheon. Before he entered the private sector, Wagner worked as a software engineer and project manager for the Naval Surface Warfare Center.
