General Dynamics promotes Guerry to IT COO

General Dynamics has promoted 11-year company veteran Bernie Guerry to chief operating officer for the defense contractor's IT services division.

Guerry will continue in his other current role as senior vice president and general manager for the IT division's intelligence business. He will oversee day-to-day operations as COO and report to Amy Gilliland, General Dynamics said Monday.

Gilliland became president in September of a division that has reported challenges to its business profile during the year's first half on a sluggish contracting environment. IT services is one of two divisions in General Dynamics' information systems and technology group, which saw first half revenue fall 6.4 percent to $4.25 billion.

General Dynamics subsequently revised its full-year sales guidance in IS&T to flat compared to last year's $9.19 million.
