ICF books potential $93M Army Research Lab cyber research contract

The Army has awarded a potential five-year, $93 million sole-source contract to ICF for services to support research in defensive cyber operations.

ICF will help the Army Research Laboratory’s carry out basic and applied research work in an effort to develop cyber tools and techniques, according to a company release. The Army disclosed its intent to award the contract in a June 20 justification-and-approval notice posted on FedBizOpps.

ARL sought help to use raw data from real-work networks to advance research-and-development in cyber defense to identify evidence of threats against systems, the notice says. The lab also seeks to focus on information generation, collection, assurance, distribution, analysis and exploitation in cyber defense.

The contract contains one base year with up to four option years.

Fairfax, Va.-based ICF will also help conduct onsite and offsite reviews of network security and work with ARL to align policy, compliance and assessment functions.
