AECOM promotes Wotring to COO, Kadenacy exiting company

AECOM has promoted Technical and Operational Services Group President Randy Wotring to chief operating officer in an appointment slated to take effect Saturday.

The three-decade engineering and construction sector veteran will continue in his group president role, an AECOM spokesperson told Washington Technology. Wotring was promoted to that position in September 2016 from his prior role as president of AECOM's $3.2 billion management services segment.

Current AECOM COO Stephen Kadenacy will leave the company after a 10-year stay there on Friday, according to a regulatory filing posted Thursday.

Wotring joined AECOM in October 2014 upon its acquisition of the former URS Corp., where he led the federal services group as president for 10 years. AECOM credits him with leadership of URS' growth among agencies such as NASA and the departments of Defense, Energy and Homeland Security.

He also has led AECOM's efforts to expand its cybersecurity footprint in the government market.

Kadency has been in the COO role for two years, spent the prior four years as AECOM's chief financial officer and his first three years there as senior vice president of finance.
