Former DoD acquisition chief Kendall returns to Renaissance Strategic Advisors

Former Defense Department acquisition leader Frank Kendall has joined aerospace and defense advisory firm Renaissance Strategic Advisors in an executive-in-residence role.

Kendall retired in January from his role as DoD undersecretary for acquisition, technology and logistics after nearly five years as the military's chief weapons buyer.

He last worked at RSAdvisors between 2008 and 2010 as a managing partner before he was appointed as DoD's principal deputy undersecretary for AT&L.

His government career also includes service in roles such as assistant deputy undersecretary for strategic defense systems and director of tactical warfare systems for the Office of the Secretary of
Defense. Kendall is also a former vice president of engineering for Raytheon, where he also led internal research-and-development initiatives.
