KeyW brings aboard new COO, chief people officer

KeyW Corp. has hired both a new chief operating officer and chief people officer in a transition that will include the exit of two original executive team members.

KeyW Corp. has shuffled the ranks of its executive team that includes the exit of two members of its founding group almost one month after the company’s transformative acquisition of Sotera Defense Solutions.

Current Chief Operating Officer Mark Willard and Chief Administrative Officer Kim DeChello will step down from their current roles by the end of the quarter and move to advisory roles. Willard and DeChello helped the late Len Moodispaw start KeyW in 2008.

Hanover, Md.-based KeyW will bring on three-decade industry veteran and former Vencore executive John Sutton as COO in a move to take effect Monday. The company also named 22-year sector veteran and former Novetta executive Marion Ruzecki as chief people officer and that appointment is effective June 12.

Sutton previously led the defense, civilian and homeland security group at Vencore. His career also includes experience in 13 merger-and-acquisition deals: the sale of the former QinetiQ North America services business to what is now Vencore, McDonald Bradley sale to ManTech International, GRC to AT&T and PRC to Litton.

Ruzeki more recently held the role of senior vice president for employee care and development at Novetta with responsibility over human resource functions and post-M&A integrations. Prior to that, she held leadership roles at ManTech and also has advised other technology companies.
