DOT plans set-aside contract for crisis management support
The Transportation Department released a solicitation for a five-year contract to support its Crisis Management Center (CMC).
The Transportation Department released a solicitation for a five-year contract to support its Crisis Management Center (CMC).
The contract is a competitive set-aside for 8(a) small businesses.
Contract work will include supporting the CMC in monitoring the National Transportation System. The company will report incidents, accidents, or threats to the system’s integrity. It will also analyze and assess information related to the transportation industry.
The contractor will support DOT’s the Office of Security, Intelligence, and Emergency Response.
The CMC provides information and communications resources to assist DOT to manage day-to-day operations. CMC supports the department’s emergency management, response, and recovery program in steady-state and emergency situations—both during natural disasters, such as hurricanes, and technological disasters, such as cyber-attacks.
DOT released its solicitation Aug. 12. Responses are due Sept. 6.
