Northrop Grumman has been awarded a $62.4 million option to provide operations and maintenance to the Navy.

The option extends Northrop’s support of the Broad Area Maritime Surveillance-Demonstrator program, which utilizes unmanned aerial vehicles to refine tactics, techniques and procedures in a maritime environment, according to the NAVAIR website.

Under the option, the company will provide for logistics support, organization, intermediate, and depot level maintenance, and field services representatives to ensure the BAMS-D aircraft are mission-capable for ISR missions, the Defense Department said in a release.

Work is expected to wrap up in June 2017.
