Northrop Grumman has been tapped to build the first ever Japanese E-2D Advanced Hawkeye under a $286 million contract modification awarded by the Navy.
Northrop Grumman has been tapped to build the first ever Japanese E-2D Advanced Hawkeye under a $286 million contract modification awarded by the Navy.
The E-2D is an all-weather, airborne early warning command and control aircraft, the company said in a release.
The Japanese Air Self Defense Force has operated the E-2C Hawkeye since the late 1980s and is now upgrading to the E-2D.
