Holland & Knight taps former DOD acting inspector general as partner

Holland & Knight has named former DOD acting inspector general Lynne Halbrooks partner in its Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia offices.

Halbrooks joined the Defense Department as its first independent general counsel in 2009. She served as principal deputy inspector general until 2011. In 2011, she became acting inspector general until 2013. In 2013, Halbrooks resumed her position of principal deputy inspector general.

She will bring to Holland & Knight her experience advising government clients on ethics issues, fiscal and appropriations law, employment law, data custody and privacy issues, the firm said in a release.
