Treasury in need of PIV services

GSA plans to issue a request for proposals for PIV integration services at Treasury to support its PIV-II smart identification card program as required by Homeland Security Presidential Directive-12.

The General Services Administration plans to issue a request for proposals later this month for personal identity verification integration services at the Treasury Department to support its PIV-II smart identification card program as required by Homeland Security Presidential Directive-12.

GSA's Federal Technology Service will accept proposals only from its list of approved HSPD-12 Integration Service providers. The products proposed also must be from approved product contractors and be compliant with Federal Information Processing Standard-201 and Special Publications from the National Institute for Standards and Technology.

The indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract will have a base period of one year with four one-year options. The RFP is expected to be issued on or about March 29.

The contractor will customize the PIV solution/card to meet Treasury's requirements and integrate it within the agency's network infrastructure and PKI. The integrator also will develop, provide and install all PIV components, including hardware and software packages, deliver installation instructions for bureau-level components and provide help desk operations.
