Fortify buys Secure Software

The acquisition of McLean, Va.-based Secure Software expands Fortify's worldwide customer base and better establishes its presence in the Washington area to serve the federal market.

Fortify Software Inc. has acquired Secure Software Inc., a provider of services and solutions to enable the deployment of secure enterprise software applications. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition of McLean, Va.-based Secure Software expands Fortify's worldwide customer base and better establishes its presence in the Washington area to serve the federal market.

The acquisition gives Fortify additional capabilities in the requirements and design phases of software lifecycle development and strengthens its integration with IBM Corp. products.

Under the terms of the agreement, Fortify gets certain intellectual property, capital assets and skilled resources belonging to Security Software.

Fortify of Palo Alto, Calif., offers products and solutions designed to protect corporate and government clients from threats posed by security flaws in business-critical software applications.
