SRA wins pair of military IT support deals

SRA International Inc. won task orders from the Army National Guard and Defense Department that could be worth more than $200 million.
The National Guard contract is to deliver enterprise operations and security services to support a nationwide information infrastructure, including the GuardNet XXI enterprisewide network.
The task order, awarded under the Chief Information Officer Solutions and Partners 2 Innovations contract, could be worth $173 million over five years if all options are exercised.
SRA has managed and operated since 2001 the enterprise operations center for GuardNet XXI, a nationwide communications structure that supports the Army National Guard's mission by serving as the communication channel for data and video among the Army, various states and U.S. territories.
The network delivers communications services to support command and control, mobilization, readiness training and distance learning. Under the new contract, SRA will continue to support the Army National Guard's enterprise systems and information technology infrastructure, including operation of GuardNet XXI, and other enterprise systems such as Active Directory, Exchange e-mail and national video operations.
The SRA-led team will handle such services as network engineering, operations and security; systems design, integration, implementation, and management; facility operations; equipment maintenance; and help-desk support.
The other contract is with the Defense Technical Information Center to deliver IT in support of the Director of Defense Research and Engineering.
The task order, which is potentially worth about $30.6 million over five years, also was awarded under the Chief Information Officer Solutions and Partners 2 Innovations contract.
Under the new task order, SRA services will include program management; business process re-engineering; information management requirements analysis, design, and development; enterprise architecture; and data standardization and administration. SRA has worked with this office since 1977.
SRA will also maintain and enhance a knowledge and information management system that will provide a Web-based capability to track, collaborate, report and assimilate data and information and support business process automation.
SRA of Fairfax, Va., has about 4,900 employees and had annual revenue of nearly $1.2 billion for the fiscal year ended June 30. The company ranks No. 19
on Washington Technology's 2006 Top 100
list of the largest federal IT contractors.
