Indiana taps Haverstick for unemployment insurance work

Haverstick Consulting Inc. has been selected by the state of Indiana to provide a new unemployment insurance processing system, the company announced this month. The final contract terms are under negotiation.

Under the projected three-year contract, Haverstick of Carmel, Ind., will develop and manage the new system for the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.

The system will include Internet access for all customers, electronic payments and e-mail notifications. It also will feature same-day results for system changes, electronic document tracking and increased staff proficiency to perform in an e-gov environment.

During the course of the project, Haverstick will migrate the agency's mainframe system to a new Web-based system.

Haverstick, which has been chosen as the prime contractor for the project, will field a team of subcontractors for the project with extensive experience developing unemployment insurance systems in numerous states.

Haverstick, an IT services and business consulting company, has more than 650 employees and had annual sales of $86.7 million in fiscal 2004.
