BearingPoint Inc. will upgrade and integrate Ireland's e-government capabilities, the Irish government announced last week.

McLean, Va., BearingPoint will assist in building Ireland's Public Services Broker, which will allow agencies to share data electronically and provide a single point of access to public services for citizens and businesses, according to Reach, the Irish e-government agency.

BearingPoint was selected from among four bidders, agency officials announced. The selection of BearingPoint allows Reach to move ahead plans for development and delivery of the Broker, with an initial live delivery of services planned for June 2004.

The next stage in the process is to negotiate a contract with BearingPoint to establish scope and terms and conditions of the deal.

The length and value of BearingPoint's work have not been released.
