Grants administration

The Monroe County, Fla., Sheriff's Office, Department of General Counsel, wants an off-the-shelf solution for managing budgets and grants. Monroe County is soliciting this system on behalf of High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas, a federally funded program of the Office of National Drug Control Policy. The system will be for used by 34 organizations that focus on administering grants for nationwide anti-drug task forces. Proposals are due Sept. 3. Three finalists will be chosen by Sept. 13. The contract is worth between $100,000 and $500,000.

Vehicle registration

The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles wants to conduct a pilot program to develop, install, operate and maintain kiosk or ATM-type machines for automobile registration renewals. The pilot is expected to last a year and is worth $1.3 million. An RFP is expected in September.

Wireless technology services

The Iowa Technology Department and the Communications Network want to develop statewide wireless technology services. The enterprisewide infrastructure initiative is designed to provide better services to Iowans and create an environment that supports a high-technology, knowledge-based economy. Requirements are expected to include fixed, point-to-point, wireless data networks and mobile networks as well as high-speed Internet service to rural communities. Responses to a request for information are due Sept. 16. An RFP is expected by the end of this year.

Telecommunications services

An RFP from the Washington, D.C., chief technology officer is expected in September for telecommunications services. They are likely to include wide area and local area network operations, data communications, telecommunications, wireless communications, telephone support and agency liaisons. The 10-year contract is expected to be worth more than $90 million.
