Balutis Goes to Private Sector

Alan Balutis has been named executive director and chief operating officer of the Federation of Government Information Processing Councils and its Industry Advisory Council. He starts his new position in February.

Balutis comes to the post from his previous position as director of the Advanced Technology Program at the Department of Commerce. He also was assistant chief information officer at Commerce.

FGIPC provides education and training to both government and industry officials about procurement and technology trends, and helps open lines of communications among government and industry information technology professionals.

Balutis will be the first person to serve as executive director of both FGIPC and its industry arm, IAC.
