OCT. 24 ? Northrop Grumman Corp. of Los Angeles completed its deal to acquire Federal Data Corp. of Bethesda, Md., for $302 million in cash and the assumption of debt.

FDC will become part of Logicon Inc., Northrop Grumman's IT division in Herndon, Va.

FDC brings Logicon about $600 million in annual revenue and an extensive reselling business and network services capabilities. Major customers include the Federal Aviation Administration, National Institutes of Health, NASA and Veterans Affairs.

"The addition of Federal Data Corp. to the Logicon team provides us with a greater range of products and services to offer the federal government," said Herb Anderson, president and chief executive of Logicon.

The addition of FDC brings Logicon new civilian customers and helps Logicon diversify its base of business, analysts and company officials said. FDC is the largest reseller of Cisco products in the federal government.

FDC was owned by the Carlyle Group of Washington, a private investment firm.
