GovWorks Hires New Chief Technology Officer

OCT. 12 ? GovWorks Inc., a provider of e-government products and services, appointed John Popolizio as chief technology and product officer.


Popolizio will be responsible for the design, development and implementation of govWorks' electronic government products and solutions for its public-sector clients and other businesses.


Popolizio joins govWorks from MetLife in New York, where he was vice president of institutional e-business distributed application development. He led the implementation of business-to-business and business-to-consumer e-business services, supporting the growth of MetLife's institutional business.

Popolizio oversaw MetLife's IT development portfolio that helped expand the company's premier products and services to the Web.


Before joining MetLife, Popolizio was vice president and director of card technology for Citibank Global Card Services. With Citibank, he was responsible for government, business-to-business and commercial credit, debit and payment services.
