Fiscal 2014 contracts expected to be much larger than previous years

Fiscal 2014’s contracts are expected to be larger than previous years according to an analysis made by market research firm Deltek, Federal Times is reporting.

The fiscal year’s top 20 contracts, combined, have potential business worth $160 billion over the contracts’ lifetime, which is a 74 percent increase over the $92 billion value of those contracts from fiscal 2013, Federal Times reported.

A slew of RFPs should be issued in January, which Federal Times said might help temper the chaos that is coming from the government shutdown. More than half of fiscal 2014’s contracts will be task order contracts.
