Government spending makes DC a tech capital

Thanks in no small measure to federal contracting spending, the Washington, D.C., metro area ranks No. 2 as the nation's second-best city for tech jobs, according to Forbes magazine.

The new report ranks the nation's 51 largest metropolitan areas with Seattle heading the list and Baltimore ranking No. 5.

The publication attributed DC's growth to a surge in government spending that has led to a 20.6 percent jump in tech employment since 2001. The complete list is available here.

Government spending is all style and no long term substance. Funny how my invisible hand led job growth to the Mecca of government spending. Guess what happens when the taxpayer dollars run out? Or the government sees a brighter shiny object/program to lavish taxpayer money on? The Government giveth and the Government taketh away, but God bless the child who has his own.
