VT Group hires VP of strategic development
George Allen has joined VT Group’s Technical Services business unit as vice president of strategic development.
George Allen has joined VT Group’s Technical Services business unit as vice president of strategic development, according to an announcement today from VT Group U.S.
Allen is expected to play a significant role in growing the business and diversifying its capabilities in new markets, Chris Taylor, president of the Technical Services Business unit of VT Group, said in the statement.
Allen most recently was senior vice president of business development at Agility Defense and Government Services, where he led efforts that resulted in new business wins of $1.2 billion in 2009.
VT Group U.S., the U.S. subsidiary of U.K.-based Babcock International PLC, is provider of customer-critical services to government agencies.
“We are pleased to welcome George, a proven and highly respected member of the government contracting community, to our team,” said Chris Taylor, president of the Technical Services Business Unit of VT Group. “George brings 32 years of experience in DOD that makes him uniquely qualified for this new position. He will play a significant role in growing our business and diversifying our capabilities in new markets.”
In September, VT Group acquired Evergreen Unmanned Systems, a division of Evergreen International Aviation Inc. Financial terms of the transaction were not reported.
