DKW scores Navy communications deal

DKW Communications Inc. will automate information systems and communications services for the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command's Systems Center.

DKW Communications Inc. will automate information systems and communications services for the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command's Systems Center in Charleston, S.C., through a newly awarded contract.

Under the terms of the agreement, DKW will deliver information technology services that address the command's requirements to install, operate and maintain all strategic communications resources located ashore. The company also will supply specified fleet tactical information resources for communications, command and control. The four-year contract is estimated to be worth $26 million.

DKW, based in Washington D.C., also will help manage those elements of the Defense Communications Systems assigned to the command.

SPAWAR Systems Center Charleston's mission includes the rapid integration of command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, or C4ISR, to Navy federal agencies and the Joint Warfighter. C4ISR is a technical framework for the electronic transmission of vital information in warfare.

DKW is a small business with about 130 employees. It offers business process consulting and IT services to the government sector.
