CACI picks up Army data management deal

CACI International has won a $75.6 million contract to provide management and support services for the Army's Communications-Electronics, Research, Development and Engineering Center.

CACI International Inc. has won a three-year, $75.6 million contract to provide management and support services for the Army's Communications-Electronics, Research, Development and Engineering Center at Fort Monmouth, N.J.

Under the award, CACI of Arlington, Va., will develop and maintain the center's knowledge management and visualization efforts as a coherent, coordinated program.

CACI's geographic information systems help sort vast amounts of data from diverse geospatial intelligence sources. Its knowledge management solutions use Web technologies to improve data production and maintenance for intelligence collection, assessment and dissemination.

Put together, they provide a powerful method of deriving actionable intelligence in direct support of the global war on terror, CACI said.

The center, which also has facilities at Fort Dix, N.J., and Fort Belvoir, Va., integrates command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance technologies.

The task order stems from the $19.2 billion Army Strategic Services Sourcing contract that CACI announced in March 2006, and has a potential value of $75.6 million.

CACI has 10,100 employees and had about $1 billion in revenue in 2006. The company ranks No. 22 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
