Sagitec unveils Kansas pension system

Sagitec Solutions has installed a new Web-based pension administration system for the state of Kansas.

Sagitec Solutions LLC has installed a new Web-based pension administration system for the state of Kansas.

The St. Paul, Minn.-based company replaced the state's old pension administration system with a more accurate and less expensive system to operate.

"Sagitec delivered a complete pension administration system on time and on budget with a very aggressive implementation schedule of two years," said John Oliver, chief information officer for the Kansas Public Employees Retirement System.

Sagitec received about $4.5 million for the core functionality used in the pension administration system project, said Bjorn Larson, a company spokesman.

The new pension administration system features an employer portal as well as one for members and benefit recipients.

Sagitec used a service-oriented architecture framework to reduce time required for custom application development and implantation.

The Kansas Public Employees Retirement System was established for Kansas public employees to provide them with a defined benefit pension plan. The system serves 150,000 active members and 60,000 benefit recipients.
