Sigma Space Partners docks with NASA for support work

Sigma Space Partners will provide services and support to NASA under a five-year contract worth up to $14.4 million.

Under the contract, Sigma of Lanham, Md., will furnish services support for NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York.

Sigma's work will include scientific programming and analysis, computer facility support, library and publication services, logistical and utility management, and program management. In addition, the company will provide global climate modeling and earth observations.

The Goddard Institute for Space Studies conducts atmospheric and climate modeling of the earth as well as studies on global warming.

Sigma, which is a certified 8(a) small disadvantaged business, has about 90 employees and had annual revenue of $8.5 million in 2005.
