Raytheon wins $300 million NOAA deal
Raytheon Co. has won contract from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Weather Service to provide operations and maintenance for a nationwide weather data analysis and dissemination system.
Raytheon Co. has won a 10-year, $300 million contract from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Weather Service to provide operations and maintenance for a nationwide weather data analysis and dissemination system, said company officials today.
Raytheon Information Solutions, based in Reston, Va., will provide software operations and maintenance, software development, hardware maintenance and logistics, commercial software maintenance, satellite communications, and network monitoring and control.
The company will support more than 168 sites for the Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System with hardware, software and communications. Raytheon will perform the work, as well as operate a network control facility, primarily in Silver Spring, Md.
Teaming with Raytheon are Keane Federal Systems, Globecomm Systems Inc., ENSCO International Inc., GTSI Corp., Reston Consulting Group Inc., Fairfield Technologies Inc., Apex Digital Systems Inc., and Earth Resources Technology Inc.
Waltham, Mass.-based Raytheon has 80,000 employees and annual sales of $20.2 billion. The company ranks No. 7 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list, which measures federal prime contract revenue.
