Navy taps CACI for support services

CACI International Inc. won a five-year, $9.4 million prime contract to provide command and control support services for the Naval Surface Warfare Center-Dahlgren Division, the company announced this week.

The work, which covers command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems, is for one year with four option years. It was awarded under the Naval Sea System Command's 15-year, $50 billion SeaPort Enhanced contract vehicle. CACI was one of several vendors selected in April 2004 for the SeaPort contract.

The Naval Surface Warfare Center-Dahlgren Division is one of the Navy's main research, development and testing facilities for naval and joint warfare systems. The division maintains Aegis computer systems, supports targeting and fire control programs for Trident submarines and certifies the safety of weapon and ordnance systems used by the Navy and Marine Corps.

The subcontractors include Sabre Systems Inc. of Warminster, Pa., and Global Technology and Management Resources Inc. of Hollywood, Md. The work will be performed in Dahlgren, Va., and at Navy ship and shore locations worldwide.

Arlington, Va.-based CACI employs about 9,500 people and had revenue of more than $1.1 billion for its fiscal year ended June 30, 2004. It is No. 17 on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 list of federal prime contractors. The 2005 Top 100 list will be published May 9.
