CSC dives into utility computing

Computer Sciences Corp., El Segundo, Calif., will try its hand at utility computing: selling applications, processing power and services on a pay-as-you-go basis.

The company this month unveiled its Results-Driven Computing Services, which will compete with utility computing solutions from EDS Corp., Hewlett-Packard Co., IBM Corp. and others. As part of it services, CSC will offer its e4 proprietary business process management software.
