American Management Systems Inc., Fairfax, Va., has recently won several contracts totaling more than $100 million from intelligence agencies.

Because the work deals in matters of national security, names of the agencies and the nature of the tasks involved cannot be revealed, according to AMS. The work will take place over the next five years.

For AMS, the wins represent the company's growing interest in intelligence work.

"These awards validate that AMS is delivering on its strategy to grow in its areas of focus," said Alfred Mockett, AMS chairman and CEO. "In 2003, we set out to significantly increase our footprint in the defense and intelligence markets and that focus is clearly paying off."

AMS' core areas of integration expertise include analytical systems consulting and development, financial management solutions and intelligence analysis.
