Australian government re-ups CSC for IT services
Computer Sciences Corp. has won a four-year, $157 million extension to continue providing a variety of information technology services to the Australian Federal Government.
Computer Sciences Corp. has won a four-year, $157 million extension to continue providing a variety of information technology services to the Australian Federal Government, the company announced Aug. 28. The extension begins July 1, 2003, when the original five-year contract expires.Under the Cluster 3 contract, CSC will provide a variety of IT services to the Australian Department of Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs, the Australian Electoral Commission and IP Australia.IP Australia, or Intellectual Property Australia, is a government agency that protects patents, trademarks, designs and other forms of intellectual property.The services include mainframe, mid-range and desktop computers and help desk support, the company said. The decision follows a six-month evaluation, a review of the company's service delivery track record and an independent assessment of the extension's terms for fair value comparison.CSC, located in El Segundo, Calif., has more than 66,000 employees worldwide and annual revenue of $11.5 billion.
