Agarwal Takes CIO Post at National Information Consortium

JUNE 8 ? Nationally known e-government expert P.K. Agarwal is joining the National Information Consortium as its chief information officer and executive vice president for e-government applications.


Agarwal, who will officially join the Overland Park, Kan.-based NIC July 1, is CIO of the Franchise Tax Board for California. He also has served as the chair of the National Electronic Commerce Coordinating Council and the National Association of State Information Resource Executives, organizations that have been at the forefront of government technology and e-commerce initiatives.


"P.K. has the vision, experience and tenacity to help NIC grow and meet the needs of our government partners," said NIC Chief Executive Officer Jim Dodd. "His technology leadership and his personal style already have won him a place of respect in the government community."


NIC provides e-government solutions to more than 100 local, state, federal and global government partners and has application or portal agreements with 12 federal agencies, 23 states and more than 80 cities and counties, according to company officials.
