Defense Department

BDM International Inc., McLean, Va., has been awarded an $81 million contract to support the the Joint Readiness Training Center at Fort Polk, La. Under this five-year contract, BDM and its team member, Lockheed Martin Services Co., will provide total mission support to the center, including training requirements analysis, distance learning, development of training strategies and training support packages.

The U. S. Air Force awarded Fairchild Aircraft, San Antonio, a $300 million, five-year contract to provide contractor logistic support to the government's fleet of C-26 aircraft.

General Government

Booz-Allen & Hamilton Inc., McLean, Va., was awarded a contract worth up to $65 million from the Department of Energy Office of Civilian Radioactive Waste Management and Technical Support Services. Under the terms of the contract, Booz-Allen will help the Energy Department determine the suitability of the Yucca Mountain, Nev., site for high-level radioactive waste disposal and assist in evaluating alternatives for interim storage of spent fuel from utility reactors until a repository has been constructed.

Pragmatics Inc., McLean, Va., recently won a two-year contract from the Federal Highway Administration to provide research services. The contract is valued at approximately $500,000. Pragmatics is a company specializing in information and software engineering, telecommunications and systems integration services.

CACI International Inc., Arlington, Va., has been awarded a $9.3 million contract to support the development of joint modeling analysis and training simulations for the Joint Command and Control Warfare Center in San Antonio. CACI will develop simulations for training purposes in the command, control and intelligence areas.

NASA has selected Intermetrics Inc., Warminster, Pa., for a $33 million contract to provide independent verification and validation of selected program software for NASA projects including the International Space Station, the space shuttle, robotic spacecraft and ground software.

Vistronix Inc. was awarded a $3 million, five-year contract to provide communications and software engineering, records management, data processing and technical training support to the Department of Justice Executive Office of Immigration Review.

Other

Analytical Sciences Inc., Bethesda, Md., was awarded a $1.4 million contract with the Centers for Disease Control for database management for laboratories performing retroviral and AIDS-related testing.

Computer Education Services, Virginia Beach, Va., was awarded a contract from Old Dominion University to provide authorized Novell NetWare training. The contract is for one year with two option years.
